Day 1: Arrival Yangon & Yangon City Tour
Upon
arrival, you'll greet by your guide who will accompany and transfer you to your
hotel.
Yangon,
formerly known as Rangoon, is a relatively quiet and charming city. Its Impressive
colonial and spiritual heritage makes it one of the most fascinating cities in Southeast
Asia.. On the way, you will visit Kaba
Aye paya
or “World
peace pagoda” is a relatively recent pagoda in
Yangon. The pagoda and the adjoining Maha
Pasana Guha
cave were built in
1952 by U Nu, the
prime minister of
Burma to host the 6th Buddhist council which ended in
1956, 2,500 years after the Buddha’s passing into
final Nirvana. Then, you will visit to National
Museum is the country’s leading museum of
Myanmar art, history and culture. Its unpromising
exterior and poor curation hide a wealth of treasures from Myanmar’s royal age,
including the Lion Throne of the last
king, Thibaw.
In the evening, you will visit to Botataung
Pagoda on the banks of the river in downtown
Yangon, one of the city’s most highly revered temples. The 40
meter high golden pagoda enshrines a sacred hair relic of the
Buddha. Overnight in
Yangon.
Day 2: Circular Train & Yangon Half Day Tour
After morning breakfast, you will transfer to
Yangon Railway
Station to take the local Circular
Train journey to the outskirts of town
(20-30 minutes ride). The slow-traveling train gives a unique opportunity to
observe the lively and colorful life of the
rural Burmese people.
Disembark to visit Kyi
Myin Daing
Market where a variety of
street vendors sell colorful wares.
Enjoy exploring the market and
meeting friendly locals before returning by road to
Yangon.
This afternoon, we'll take
a tour around the city
center which is filled various historical and
colonial buildings partly by car or partly on foot. We’ll first visit to Sule
Pagoda which is a
2200-year-old temple surrounded by government buildings and commercial shop. Then, you'll pass along the way to Mahabandoola
Park where Independent Monument exists.
Continue your tour by passing City
Hall, a little
India and
a little china.
From Here, end your day at Shwedagon
Pagoda which is one of the wonders of the world. It was built 2500
years ago and enshrined with hair relics of
Buddha and a place where to meet devoted Buddhists meditating and praying. Enjoy breathtaking views of the
golden stupa from this vantage point.
Transfer back to
hotel / airport.
